After spending the season training with us on the estancia, our riding guide and hostess Holly travelled to El Chalten in March to take part in the Gaucho Derby, a 500km unsupported horse race across Southern Patagonia.

After 7 days in the saddle riding 7 different horses and battling Patagonia’s famed winds and storms, she crossed the line in joint first place, a testament to her gaucho training and the quality of our horses!
