Fly fishing is what put Tipiliuke on the map more than 20 years ago. Considered by many to be one of the worlds’ top fly fishing destinations. Tipiliuke, in Northern Patagonia, is home to more than 17 miles of the finest trout waters on the planet. Our guides are the best in the business and can be found at hot spots all over the world after our local season closes. Tipiliuke was the recipient of the prestigious Sporting Classics Award of Excellence as the world’s top fishing lodge for 2011.


Our fishing season runs from early November through May. A typical day of fishing begins with a made to order breakfast before heading to the river around 9:30 AM. Clients dress in our wader room at the lodge before ridding 3 to 15 minutes to their selected beat for the morning. For more than 100 years we have been known for having some the best horses in Northern Patagonia. While we use these horses for the enjoyment of our guests, their real job for more than a century has been serving the local Gauchos as their trusty steed in the day to day operations on this working cattle ranch. From the experienced to the first time riders, we have horses for every skill level.

From the snow capped Andes mountain range to the valleys and gin clear waters Patagonia is known for, it's hard to imagine riding in a more spectacular setting. In addition to the beautiful scenery the wildlife of Patagonia abounds on every ride. Eva was born in Patagonia where she married and raised her six children and four grandchildren. She started very young to work for the ranch owners. Eva worked at the lodge from its beginnings and for over 18 years she is at the head of Tipiliuke´s kitchen. What she likes is preparing main dishes and desserts like cakes, breads...
Guests love her simplicity and refined country-style cuisine. Once a guest even said if he could he would take Eva back to the U.S. in his suitcase!

From the river valleys that made Patagonia famous many years ago, to the iconic Tipiliuke Mountain, to the snow capped Lanín glacier in the distance, to the scenic 100 year old pine forest, we have trail systems suited for every hiking ability. You just can’t imagine a more beautiful place for a hike. All our guides carry radios and hikers can be picked at anytime in one of our 4x4 vehicles if they desire. In addition the beautiful scenery, wildlife abounds on Tipiliuke. From large herds of red deer, to Andean condors, to Guanacos, the wild version of the now domesticated llama, to the elusive puma, you are sure to experience the best of Patagonia’s wildlife. Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking

At the lodge we have mountain bike available for our guests, we organize guided outings in many of our trails in the ranch and also offer the posibility of riding with a guide in some of the national park circuits. High preformance bikes are also available in the town of San Martín de los Andes (Patagonia).
If you just want to ride solo in the easy terrain of the ranch we will point you in the right direction and give you a radio just in case you want to be picked up in a truck.
